Definition

CMS is the abbreviation of Content Management Server. It is a framework which undertake all mechanisms of WEB site like user authentication, access right management, publication of documents, web commerce, etc. Usually, the CMS also allow to have a common graphical scheme over the whole WEB site, independently of the content.


List of free CMS

There are several well known CMS. We gives only some of the free one below.

  • Mambo
  • Joomla!, which is a fork of Mambo. Joomla! and Mambo are less and less compatible. It means that plugins developped for one can not always be used on the other one.
  • Typo3
